Brenda Cassidy has recently joined the Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance (MHSA) in a newly developed role serving as a subject matter expert with Programs of MHSA’s publicly funded contract and sub-contracts’ scopes of services, and to support monitoring projects for both compliance and technical assistance for areas of improvement. Brenda comes to MHSA with a passion for improving programs, processes, and outcomes. She has worked more than thirty years in various administrative and service delivery roles with disabled, homeless individuals in both the non-profit and public sectors and across all components of the continuums of care from street outreach, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing. Brenda has been instrumental in leading non-profit service programs in the design, development, and integration of Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) of Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Housing First, Harm Reduction and other best practices.

Brenda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies and she is trained in conflict resolution and mediation through Mediations Works Incorporated. She is also a 2004 graduate from Australasian College of Natural Therapies in Sydney, Australia where she studied Integrated Mind Body Therapies.
