Massachusetts Alliance for Supportive Housing (MASH) seeks to expand permanent supportive housing (PSH) development for unaccompanied adults with complex, disabling medical conditions who are experiencing homelessness. The initiative is funded with $15 million appropriated by the Massachusetts State Legislature as part of a $150 million reserve to expand supportive housing across the Commonwealth.
Of the eighteen organizations that received MASH grant funding, ten Development projects received a combined total of $11.75 million to create a total of 243 new PSH units, and eight Capacity Building projects were awarded $1.128 million in total to enhance their organizations’ capacity to develop and/or operate PSH.
The following report focuses on the Capacity Building and Development projects, highlighting the progress made by each organization.
MASH is a collaboration of the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance (MHSA), United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB), and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH).
