MHSA will honor Jerry Ray of Mental Health Association, Inc., Santander Bank, N.A. and Goulston & Storrs
BOSTON – The Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance (MHSA) will honor Jerry Ray of Mental Health Association, Inc., Santander Bank, N.A. and Goulston & Storrs at MHSA’s 13th Annual Spring Fundraising Event, “Home for Good: Solutions Start Here.” The event will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Boston, One Avenue de Lafayette, Boston.
“Our 2016 honorees have demonstrated time and again their dedication to supporting innovative solutions to homelessness in Massachusetts,” said MHSA President & Executive Director Joe Finn. “We are grateful for their commitment to ensuring that people experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts have access to the stable housing and support services they need.”
Jerry Ray of Mental Health Association, Inc., a nonprofit based in Springfield, Mass., will be presented with the “William Lloyd Garrison Lifetime Achievement Award” for his commitment to ending homelessness in the Commonwealth through permanent supportive housing.
“The ‘William Lloyd Garrison Lifetime Achievement Award’ represents, for me, a culmination of over 30 years in Western Massachusetts focused on the plight of people experiencing homelessness,” said Ray. “The collaboration and successes in that period were due in large part to the leadership and drive of MHSA.”
Santander Bank, N.A. will be recognized with the “Bob Ray Partnership Award” for the Bank’s work partnering with and investing in social service organizations to bring innovative principles to the nonprofit sector.
“We are honored to receive this award. Santander believes in creating a corporate culture that embodies responsibility and citizenship. Through our volunteering and giving, we strive to make an impact in the communities where we live and work,” said Gwen Robinson, Managing Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Santander Bank, N.A. “The work MHSA does is making a meaningful difference in helping the homeless population in Massachusetts, and we are proud to be their partner.”
Goulston & Storrs will be honored with the “Cornerstone Award” for their dedication to making a difference through pro bono legal work and public service.
“Goulston & Storrs is honored to receive this year’s ‘Cornerstone Award,’” said Peter D. Corbett, Director at Goulston & Storrs. “The firm feels fortunate to have been able to help MHSA in their important work to end homelessness.”
