The Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance is honored to be selected as one of 10 finalists for the 2018 Drucker Prize for our Pay for Success (PFS) program!
The Drucker Prize, previously known as the “Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation” is awarded by the Drucker Institute and recognizes the organization that “best exemplifies Peter Drucker’s definition of innovation: ‘change that creates a new dimension of performance.'” The winner will be announced on October 1st.
PFS is the nation’s first social innovation financing to end chronic homelessness. To date, 728 people have been housed through PFS. In partnership with CSH, Santander Bank, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and service providers across the Commonwealth, PFS provides low-threshold, permanent supportive housing to those who would otherwise rely on costly emergency resources. This enables them to address their often-complex health issues more effectively than they would be able to on the streets or in the shelters. Read the latest PFS fact sheet here.
