Today, The Boston Globe published “An innovative, practical solution for preserving the health and well-being of the homeless,” an op-ed by Lyndia Downie of MHSA member agency Pine Street Inn, Secretary Marylou Sudders of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and Audrey Shelto of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts Foundation. The article explores the significance of the Community Support Program for People Experiencing Chronic Homelessness (CSPECH), a collaboration between the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership and MHSA, in integrating health care and housing.
The expansion of CSPECH was successful because of the early advocacy and work of John Ford and the Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts. MHSA extends our thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts Foundation for its involvement in CSPECH.
