WBUR reports the Worcester Housing Authority has received approval and funding from DHCD to build the first modular micro-units in Massachusetts to house chronically homeless individuals. The building will consist of 24 units for inviduals and one unit for a residential director. MHSA, who will be partnering on the project for our Home & Healthy for Good program, has been an advocate for micro-units as a low-cost and fast way to create low-barrier permanent housing with supportive services. This type of housing will get people off the street, into stable housing, and accessing the services they need to remain housed. Read the full WBUR article here.
