On July 13, 2016, the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) published “People With Lived Experience Must be Meaningful Partners in Ending Homelessness,” an article by USICH Regional Coordinator Amy Sawyer that emphasizes that communities should shape their responses to homelessness based on the insights of people who have experienced homelessness.
The article recognizes the Massachusetts Faces of Homelessness Speakers’ Bureau, a program of MHSA through which speakers share their personal experiences with homelessness and engage in dialogue with communities members to raise awareness and advocate for permanent solutions to homelessness.
