City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development Seeks Deputy Director for Supportive Housing

The City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development is seeking applicants for a Deputy Director for Supportive Housing. Ending homelessness in Boston by providing homeless individuals and families access to permanent housing is a primary goal of the Department of Neighborhood Development. The Deputy Director for Supportive Housing is responsible for leading the Department’s efforts toward achieving this goal and oversees the management of staff, policies, programs, and activities of the Supportive Housing Division.

The position is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the nation’s leading community development agencies and provide innovative leadership during a time of dramatic change in housing and development policy at both the national and local levels. In particular, the Deputy Director will work with senior leaders across federal, state and city government, nonprofit and private sectors to implement programs that will achieve the Mayor’s vision of ending homelessness in our city.

Boston is in the midst of a system transformation that works to make episodes of homelessness rare and brief and to provide the housing solution that meets the particular needs of the person or family experiencing homelessness. The Deputy Director is a leader in this large scale system reform.
